Tesla Model 3 wrap template: pick the right one of three
There are three official Model 3 wrap templates: one for the original Model 3 (2017 to 2023), one for the 2024+ refreshed car (Highland) in Standard and Premium trim, and one for the 2024+ Performance. Download the one that matches your car below, free and with no account, paint inside the white shapes, and save a PNG of 1024×1024 pixels and 1 MB or less.

Model 3
The original Model 3, 2017 to 2023
- How to tell
- Round fog lights low in the front bumper corners, and the older, taller headlights.
- Worth knowing
- Its bumpers differ from the 2024+ car, so designs made for either one don't swap.

Model 3 (2024+) Standard & Premium
Model 3 Highland, 2024+, Standard and Premium
- How to tell
- A smooth front bumper with no fog lights, and slimmer headlights.
- Worth knowing
- One template covers both trims. The Performance is the only 2024+ Model 3 with its own.

Model 3 (2024+) Performance
Model 3 Performance, 2024+
- How to tell
- Vertical vents at the outer corners of the front bumper, a rear diffuser and a carbon-fibre spoiler.
- Worth knowing
- Its own front and rear bumpers, so artwork on a Highland template slips at both ends here.

The PNG spec the car accepts
From Tesla's own instructions. A file that breaks any of these is left out of the list or refused by the app.
| Format | PNG |
|---|---|
| Dimensions | 512×512 to 1024×1024 pixels (keep the template's own size) |
| File size | 1 MB or less |
| Filename | Up to 30 characters: letters, numbers, underscores, dashes, spaces |
| How many | Up to 10 from the Tesla app, plus up to 10 from a USB drive |
How to use a Model 3 template
The template is the car's body unfolded flat: each white shape is one panel, such as the hood, the roof, a door or a bumper. Paint inside the shapes; anything outside them never reaches the car. Keep logos and text away from the edges, where one panel meets the next.
Save the result as a PNG (not a JPEG, which loses the transparency) at the template's own 1024×1024 size, and check it is 1 MB or less with a short, plain filename. Then send it from the Tesla app under Creations, then Wrap (vehicle software 2026.26 and app 4.59.0 or newer), or copy it into a folder named Wraps on a USB drive, and apply it under Toybox, then Paint Shop, then Wraps.
Don't want to paint it yourself?
Two faster routes start from the same template. The free editor places your own photos, logos and text on it in the browser, no account needed. The studio paints a design onto it from a description, such as "satin black with a red pinstripe along the sills", in about 30 seconds. Your first wrap is free, after that credit packs start at $2.99 and never expire, and no subscription is needed.
Or skip making one: the community gallery has finished Model 3 designs, free to download, each labelled with the template it was made on.
Frequently asked
- Where do I download the Tesla Model 3 wrap template?
- Tesla publishes all three Model 3 templates free in its teslamotors/custom-wraps repository on GitHub. The same files download from this page with no account.
- Which Model 3 template do I need?
- If the front bumper has round fog lights in its corners, you have the original Model 3 (2017 to 2023). If it is smooth with no fog lights, you have a 2024+ car: use Model 3 (2024+) for the Standard and Premium, or Model 3 (2024+) Performance if the bumper has vertical vents at its outer corners.
- What size is the Model 3 wrap template?
- 1024×1024 pixels, which is also the largest file the car accepts. Keep that size, save as PNG, and stay at 1 MB or less.
- Why does my Model 3 wrap look scrambled?
- Almost always the wrong template, usually an original Model 3 design on a 2024+ car or the other way round. The bumpers changed in the refresh, so the nose and tail land in the wrong place. Redo it on the template for your car.
